There are many advantages to an open market when it comes to mobile phone apps. Not among them however is the ability for users to get themselves in trouble via lazy or hasty download decision making.
One of the latest app scandals to hit the Android marketplace was not only requesting permission to access the camera, but actively using it to take photos of the unsuspecting owner.
The app known as “Adult Player”, promised to provide adult entertainment but actually then locked the device and demanded a ransom payment of $500.
